Overlander Bookings Suspended - 26 December 2010 to 9 January 2011

Sales on Overlander services scheduled to operate between the 26th of December and the 9th of January inclusive have been suspended whilst we evaluate the impact of proposed major upgrades on the network during this time.

Some of the network upgrades will impact on the running of the Capital Connection over this period. We are reviewing options to ensure the best possible outcome for our customers.

The Capital Connection is a popular commuter passenger train that runs between Palmerston North and Wellington from Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

Large windows means you won’t miss any of the views as you travel and comfortable seating and a Buffet Carriage give you extra comfort you will enjoy.

As the Capital Connection is a popular commuter service, seats are not guaranteed. Fares are subject to change without notice and tickets can be purchased from the Train Manager onboard the Capital Connection.

Tranz Metro tickets and school passes are not accepted on the Capital Connection; however passengers are able to use Capital Connection tickets on Tranz Metro services.

You can purchase your tickets from the Train Manager on the day of travel, or from a Capital Connection ticketing agent.
